En enero de 1971 se publicó en el número 233 de la colección SUPERMAN, el inicio de una saga que duraría ocho ejemplares, en la que Denny O'Neil realizaría una renovación total del personaje, tal como hemos explicado en la página SUPERMAN EN 1971, donde puedes leer detalladamente los guiones de toda la saga completa.
La aventura se tituló "Superman Breaks Loose" dibujada por Curt Swan y Murphy Anderson.
Siete años más tarde, en julio de 1978 aparecerá un nuevo ejemplar, el ACTION COMICS NO.485 en el que curiosamente, se publica de nuevo la misma aventura, con una portada diferente pero dibujada también por Neal Adams, con la imagen típica de Superman rompiendo cadenas con el pecho, presentando en el interior un comienzo con tres páginas inéditas, que enlazan con la aventura del SUPERMAN 233 sin ninguna modificación (excepto el haber suprimido la Splash Page del principio y la página del Epílogo final) y añadiendo una nueva página como fin de la aventura.
La aventura se tituló "The Experiment That Backfired on Superman!" con prólogo y epílogo de Cary Bates, puesto que la parte central es la que escribió Denny O'Neil. El dibujo es de Curt Swan y Josef Rubinstein (el central de Curt Swan y Murphy Anderson)
Presentamos como curiosidad la penúltima página de la aventura donde se puede apreciar la inserción de una viñeta en el ACTION COMICS NO.485 respecto a la misma página del SUPERMAN NO.233.
Aunque en la portada del ACTION COMICS NO.485 pone "Presentando: La historia clásica que responde todas tus preguntas acerca del día en que cambío la vida del Hombre de Acero", desconocemos los motivos de la editorial para repetir la historia del SUPERMAN NO.233 insertada dentro de cuatro páginas nuevas para el ACTION COMICS NO.485.
También aprovechamos, puesto que esta sección del Museo de Superman trata sobre ediciones comparadas, para presentar la portada del famoso SUPERMAN NO.233 en su versión de la Editorial Novaro de México, como el SUPERMAN Nš 858.
In January 1971 was published SUPERMAN NO.233 presenting a new Superman, renewed by Denny O'Neil in an eight issues saga that you can read (sorry, in Spanish) in SUPERMAN EN 1971.
The adventure was entitled "Superman Breaks Loose" and was drawn by Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson.
Seven years later, in July 1978, appears a new issue, ACTION COMICS NO.485, in wich oddly is published anew the same adventure, with a different cover also drawn by Neal Adams, with the tipical image of Superman breaking chains with his breast, presenting inside a begining with three unpublished pages, linked with the adventure of SUPERMAN NO.233 without any modification (except the removal of the splash page and the final epilogue)adding a new page as the end of the adventure.
The adventure was entitled "The Experiment That Backfired on Superman!" with prologue and epilogue writen by Cary Bates as the central adventure is by Denny O'Neil. The artists were Curt Swan and Josef Rubinstein (Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson in de midle).
We present as curiosity the penultimate page of the adventure where you can see the insertion of a new drawing in ACTION COMICS NO.485, respect the same page in SUPERMAN NO.233.
Although in the ACTION COMICS NO.485 cover says: "Presenting the classic story that answers all your questions about the day the Man of Steel's life was changed", we do not know why the editorial repeated the SUPERMAN NO.233 story, inserted inside four new pages for the ACTION COMICS NO.485.
We also exploit, as this is a section of the Superman Museum about compared editions, to present the same cover as published by Editorial Novaro from México, as SUPERMAN Nš 858.
