Presentamos la famosa novela 'LAS AVENTURAS DE SUPERMAN' escrita por George Lowther en 1942, en una poco conocida edición de 1979 de Kassel Books, Los Angeles, California.
En esta edición, la novela se titula 'SUPERMAN'. En el canto pone: Lowther/Siegel/Shuster y en la portada, como se puede ver aquí, 'SUPERMAN' por George Lowther. Del personaje creado por Jerry Siegel y Joe Shuster. Introducción de Jeremy Kay.
En el interior hay un Prefacio de Kassel Books y una pequeña introducción de un tal Jeremy Kay en la que explica los recuerdos de su infancia asociados a los comic books, a los dibujos animados de Superman salidos de los Fleischer, a los seriales matinales de los sábados con Kirk Alyn y termina explicando como 30 años más tarde ha vuelto a caer cautivado por esta reedición de la novela de Lowther.
En el prefacio de Kassel Books, se habla del nacimiento de la idea por Siegel y Shuster a principios de los 30, la figura del editor M.C. Gaines creando lo que se conocerá como 'Comic Book', la adaptación de los primeros dibujos de Superman (creados para formato de periódico) al formato del comic book, la aparición del ACTION COMICS NO.1 en 1938 y su expansión a partir de 1939 que pasa a la prensa, a los dibujos animados, y se convierte en un símbolo de America. Termina hablando de la necesidad de que la novela de Superman esté presente en las bibliotecas y la contribución que esta edición hace para conseguir este objetivo.

There is a Preface by Kassel Books inside and a little introduction by Jeremy Kay explaining his childhood memories linked to comic books, the Fleischer cartoons, the saturdays matinee with Kirk Alyn, and ends explaining as 30 years later has fallen captivated again with this 'SUPERMAN' edition.
In the Kassel Books Preface you can read about the Jerry Siegel and Joe Shusters' idea birth at the begining of the 30's, the figure of M.C. Gaines creating what will be known later as Comic Books, the adaptation of the first Superman drawings (created in newspaper format) to the comic book format, the appearance of ACTION COMICS NO.1 in 1938 and its expansion as of 1939 goes to newspapers, the Fleischer cartoons, and became an American symbol. The Preface ends speaking about the need that this book be in the libraries and the Kassel Books contribution to get this objective.
