A great Superman book by Michael J. Bifulco

SUPERMAN ON TELEVISION

SUPERMAN ON TELEVISION 1988 In 1988, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Superman birth, a great book written by Michael J. Bifulco was published honoring the memory of George Reeves, the great actor and magnificent person who impersonated the roll of Superman / Clark Kent for televisión between 1953-1957 (and in the first Superman movie in 1951, 'Superman and the Mole Men', used afterwards as the 25th and 26th TV episodes).

Ten years later, celebrating the Tenh Anniversary Edition of his book and the 60th Superman Anniversary, Michael J. Bifulco give us a new version of his book with a lot of pictures from his own collection, 112 (64 more than in the preliminary edition), where we can see and remember George Reeves as Superman / Clark Kent, Phyllis Coates and Noel Neill (the two Lois Lane of his TV episodes), Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen), John Hamilton (Perry White), Robert Shayne (Inspector Henderson) and a lot of TV secuences. Inside, we can read the exact story of the 104 episodes, as well as The Episodes in Brief at the end of the book. There also is a part dedicated to the Superman Museum in Metropolis, Illinois.

In Spain, we could only see two TV episodes in the 60's, but as the Spanish Goverment of that age, forbidded the Super-Heroes comics imported from Editorial Novaro (México), because they said that it was dangerous to the youth moral education, I believe that the Superman TV show was in the same category. It was a pitty because the 104 episodes have been seen almost everywhere except Spain. This is another explanation of the fact that there are a few Spanish people who really love Superman. The other explanation is that between 1964 and 1970 there were only published some Marvel comics because of the Government prohibition.
