El año 2003 se caracteriza principalmente por la reducción de cuatro colecciones regulares a tres, al desparecer o terminar, la colección "Superman The Man of Steel" en su número 134 del mes de marzo, por lo que de aquí en adelante, incluído el siguiente año 2004, sólo existirán tres colecciones regulares cada mes que se verán compensadas por un gran numero de miniseries, la mayoría de ellas de 12 ejemplares por lo que cada mes hay números adicionales a los tres de las series regulares. Ver abajo la entrada para las series especiales.

En cuanto se regulariza a tres colecciones el orden se fija en Superman in Action Comics, The Adventures of Superman y Superman. Cada título tiene su equipo creativo que se mantiene casi regular con algunas excepciones. Joe Kelly es el guionista para Action, Joe Casey para Adventures y Scott McDaniel para Superman. El equipo de dibujantes en portadas es Scott McDaniel & Andy Owens en Superman, Kevin Nowlan en Adventures (en general las más atractivas) y David Bullock en Action (las más horrorosas). Los equipos que dibujan el interior de los cuadernos permanece estable y es el mismo que el de la portada en el caso de Superman, no así en Action Comics que va variando aunque Pascual Ferry es quien más veces lo dibuja y lo mismo en Adventures predominando Dereck Aucoin. En general y para mi gusto son equipos creativos estéticamente regulares si bien las tecnologías usadas en la coloración de las viñetas hace que haya cuadernos con algunas páginas atractivas. Las portadas del mes de febrero dibujadas todas por John Van Fleet son las de más calidad de todo el año 2003.
