Los anuales de Superman de la Edad de Plata constituyen ejemplares de coleccionismo, no sólo por si mismos, por las bellas portadas que nos ofrecen, sino porque a través de ellos, muchas veces se pueden recuperar historias o aventuras del Hombre de Acero que a lo mejor no se poseerían de otra manera.
El Superman Gigante Anual número 7 es también el Aniversario de Plata, es decir que se celebra que hace 25 años aparecieron las aventuras de Superman en 1938. La portada es particularmente atractiva con una estatua de plata con la figura del Hombre de Acero conmemorando el evento.
La primera aventura que reproduce es la del ACTION COMICS NO.232 de 1957, editado por Novaro en su número 194. Presentamos en esta ocasión las 'Splash Pages' de las 8 aventuras que se reproducen en este ejemplar. La primera es 'La historia de Superman Junior'. La portada se reproduce en la cubierta de atrás del propio ejemplar y es la primera portada de Action Comics que dibujó Curt Swan con entintado de Stan Kaye.
La segunda aventura es 'La Superespada', correspondiente al SUPERMAN NO. 124 de 1958 y editada por Novaro en su número 201. Puedes ver las dos portadas, haciendo click aquí. También se reproduce en la cubierta trasera de este cuaderno.
La tercera aventura es la tercera del SUPERMAN 125 de 1958 y editada por Novaro en el número 203. Se titula 'El misterioso poder de Superman'.
La cuarta aventura se titula 'Superman en la Casa Blanca' y se editó por vez primera como segunda aventura del SUPERMAN NO.122 en 1958, reproducida por Novaro en el número 199. La quinta aventura es 'El Supergorila de Krypton' del ACTION COMICS NO.238 de 1958 y cuya portada se reproduce en la cubierta de atrás. A continuación se reproduce un dibujo de Superman con sus tres enemigos, Lex Luthor, El Bromista (The Prankster) y el Juguetero (TheToyman).
Después de ese dibujo vienen aventuras de Superboy. La primera se titula 'El castigo de Superboy' perteneciente al SUPERBOY NO.75 tercera aventura de 1959 y cuya portada se reproduce en la cubierta de atrás. Luego viene una página donde se reproducen las portadas de los números uno de Superman, Superboy, Jimmy Olsen y Lois Lane. Puedes verlas aquí.
La séptima aventura procedente del ADVENTURE COMICS 275 de 1960, número 225 de la Editorial Novaro se titula 'El origen del equipo Superman-Batman'.
A continuación se reproducen tres tiras diarias de 1955 dibujadas por Win Mortimer.
Finalmente, la octava aventura se titula 'El amor secreto de Superman' y se corresponde con LOIS LANE NO.2 de 1958.
The Superman Annuals of the Silver Age are collectors' issues, not only by themselves, for the beautiful covers they offer, but because through them, we can recover Man of Steel's adventures you couldn't see in other way. The Giant Superman Annual NO.7, is also the Silver Anniversary, celebrating the 25 years of the first Superman appearance in 1938. The cover is particularly atractive with a Man of Steel Silver Statue commemorating the event.
The first adventure you can see is from ACTION COMICS NO.232, 1957, edited by Novaro (México) in its 194 number. We present in this ocasion the 8 splash pages that appear in this issue.
The first adventure is 'The Story of Superman Junior'. The cover is the first drawn by Curt Swan inked by Stan Kaye and is reproduced in the back cover of the same issue, as you can see below.
The second adventure is 'The Super-Sowrd', from SUPERMAN NO.124, 1958, edited by Novaro in number 201. You can see the two covers here. It is also reproduced at the back cover of this issue.
The third adventure is the third of SUPERMAN NO.125, 1958, published by Novaro in the issue number 203. It is entitled 'Superman's Mystery Power'. The fourth adventure is entitled 'Superman in the White House'
and was published for the first time as the second adventure of SUPERMAN NO.122, 1958, issue number 199 from Novaro. The fifth adventure is 'The Supergorila from Krypton' from ACTION COMICS NO.238 wich cover is reproduced in the back of the issue.
Afterwards, we can see Superman with his three enemies: Lex Luthor, The Prankster and the Toyman (El Bromista y El Juguetero in the Novaro version).
After this picture come Superboy adventures. The first one is entitled 'The Punishment of Superboy', from SUPERBOY NO.75 in its third adventure, from 1959. The cover is reproduced in the back of the issue.
It follows a page with the number one covers of Superman, Superboy, Jimmy Olsen and Loisis Lane. You can see them here:
The seventh adventure is from ADVENTURE COMICS NO.275 and is entitled 'The Origin of Superman-Batman Tem'.
It follows three daylies from 1955 drawn by Win Mortimer.
Finally, the eighth adventure is entitled 'Superman's Secret Sweetheart' from LOIS LANE NO.2, 1958. And here you can see the back cover of the GIANT SUPERMAN NO.7 that reproduces four of the eight covers corresponding to the eight adventures published in this magnificent issue.
