I have selected these two covers because they are similar. Both of them present Superman fighting against another Superman. But this is not the only reason because if you see the two covers, the two of them have the same title: "The Thing from 40.000 A.D.!". When you open the book, you actually find the same adventure drawed by Wayne Boring. The cover on the left is from SUPERMAN NO.87 February 1954 by Win Mortimer & Stan Kaye. Inside the issue there are trhee adventures: 1. The Thing from 40.000 A.D. by Wayne Boring. 2. Superman's Super-Boners by Al Plastino and 3. The Prankster's Greatest Role by Al Plastino. The cover on the right is from SUPERMAN NO.196 May 1967 by Curt Swan & George Klein. Inside the issue there are two adventures: 1. The Thing from 40.000 by Wayne Boring (the exact story that the one on SUPERMAN NO.87) and 2. The Star of Steel by Al Plastino that presents the first and sole appearance of one of Superman's love, Lyrica Lloyd. But you can also see another similar cover with one Superman fighting against another Superman, in THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN NO.242 by Neal Adams. Inside the issue there are three adventures: 1. The Ultimate Battle by Curt Swan & Murphy Anderson, writen by Denny O'Neil in his revamping of the Legend of the Man of Steel in 1971. 2. The Girl Who Didn't Believe in Superman by Wayne Boring, a reprint story from SUPERMAN NO.96 in March 1955. 3. A non Superman adventure from STRANGE ADVENTURES NO.54 March 1955.
